Recent decisions made by the government have caused millions of “we the people” to become distrustful of our government. The major majority of people when asked what’s wrong with our government will answer with: “They do not listen to the people”.

Perhaps we are absolutely correct when we say the government has stopped listening to the people. Recent results of governments’ actions and inactions have clearly harmed the people. Would anyone purposely harm themselves? If a government is for the people would it make decisions that harmed the people? So if a government is not for the people, may it well be against the people? 

For arguments sake, most people are sane. Would a sane group of people vote for legislation that would put them in the unemployment line? Would a sane person continue to dig deeper in debt while trying to get out of debt?  Common sense would suggest the best way to get out of a hole is to stop digging? Common sense would tell us we can no longer afford to second guess the actions of our government.

We digress; the problem with the government is that it has stopped listening to the people. Call it lack of concern, greed, conspiracy, new world order or big business? The fact that they have blatantly stopped listening is reason enough for major concern and action.

The Declaration of Independence holds the key to our future Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. By comparing events described in the Declaration of Independence to recent events it is clear that history has repeated itself. The Declaration of Independence was written because the people were sick and tired of “years of abuses, repeated injuries and usurpations”. It ignited our Forefathers into action and the United States Constitution was written. The Constitution continues to withstand the test of time.

The Collective Party position is clear; the United States Constitution gives us the authority to assemble while The Declaration of Independence, along with recent history, inspires us into action. Our noble cause is freedom and we seek political evolution, over revolution, to preserve our Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.   We need to fix the problem of accountability and make sure that the problem does not happen again. As a society we have reason to evolve to a more enlightened way of living. You, I, our family and friends need to take action and make a stand for our beliefs. Make no mistake, without action we are bound to suffer the consequences of inaction!

We can no longer afford to spend time listening to the rhetoric, platforms, promises and debate that continuously clouds our judgment.
